Claxton provided all facets of life cycle planning and program management to support execution of the acquisition objectives for the ACAT-1D MRAP program.

Key facets of support included assessing engineering changes to the multi-variant fleet and determining economic impacts. This included developing inputs for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) contract specifications based upon predictive modeling results and providing expert level engineering cost/technical recommendations to government program staff; developing technical documentation to support both prime and subcontracting procurement efforts; developing fielding schedules and coordinating with government logistics staff to maintain configuration documentation based upon mission-defined vehicle packages.

CLS logistics engineers have executed hundreds of hours of predictive modeling using the latest software applications to ascertain optimal levels of repair, conduct parts failure analysis supporting maintenance planning, determining facilities sources of repair (e.g., unit level, intermediate, depot) based upon vehicle configurations.

Additional modeling and simulation efforts have focused on improving sustainment economics and efficiencies in support of ongoing provisioning/spares studies; OEM supply chain analysis; and validation of conventional performance metrics for material availability, reliability, maintenance down time, and operational availability.

CLS provides location modeling and logistics facilities planning analysis and recommendations to government program staff to optimize MRAP fleet vehicle deployments and to facilitate efficient transportation of vehicles from point of integration to the point of delivery in theater.

The scope of this effort includes analyzing transportation costs and throughput volume, mitigating logistics delay time for prime equipment, spares, and piece parts, and coordinating with OEMs to manage shipping schedules and routing.
